Got Keratosis Pilaris?

I do, so it has been a lifelong mission to manage these pesky arm bumps and keep them under control. This is one of the most commonly asked questions I receive, so I thought I would give you some tips! I think I've finally got it down to a science. Feel free to post any tips that have worked for you.

Cleanse the skin with something non irritating, such as Rhonda Allison’s Fruit Enzyme Wash. It's $16 for a 2oz bottle, but a small amount goes a long way.

and the Clarisonic Pro with the Body Brush ($225)

Then scrub with the MicrodermaMitt, my new favorite shower accessory. It deeply exfoliates using only water.

After the shower, use a product containing alpha hydroxy acids to chemically exfoliate the skin. I use the Skin Smoothing Gel At $16, it is the best bang for the buck. You can also use it on your face to for smoother skin and as an acne treatment. AHA supports the treatment of acne by influencing the epidermal keratinization of the follicle. Just be careful not to use this product before sun exposure.

Finally, finish your at home treatment with the amazing O2 Enriched Jojoba Oil from Inventives.

You can always kick start your new regimen with an in office treatment, such as a pumpkin peel. This service can be added to any treatment for $55, or by it's self for $95. It's great before a big event where you want to have silky smooth arms.

You can call me to set up an appointment at 512-736-9937 or book online at www.trishaleslie.com

Beautify
The Skin Skinny June 17, 2010

Okay, ladies. Time to get serious about skin care. No more layout out sans sunscreen, sleeping in your make-up or clogging your pores with outdated crème de la crap. Local corrective skincare guru, Trisha Leslie, has some summer skin tips to keep you looking younger than your years.

1. Sunscreen: Always opt for an SPF30 with natural zinc barrier without vitamin a(which is toxic in the sun), like Daytime Defense.

2. Topical Vitamin C: Super C is great for antioxidant support and collagen building. If you’ve had too much sun, Therapy E Serum will help repair and heal the skin.

3. Get Your Vitamin A: Look into Vitamin Organic A as a night time serum to feed the skin with veggies and antioxidants.

4. Nourish The Body: Eat food that was grown or raised with respect; your body will thank you and you’ll notice visible improvements in your skin. Check out In Defence of Food by Micheal Pollan and drink AIO to pick up where your diet leaves off.

5. Makeup: Mineral makeup is the best choice because your skin can breathe through it and it doesn’t clog your pores. Recommended: Myka Mineral.
